The project began with an unexpected and unfortunate incident, a fire that broke out in the existing data panel room. The damage was significant enough to take down the main switchgear, leaving all 20 businesses without power. For these business owners, every minute without power meant lost revenue and disrupted operations.

Our Response: Immediate Temporary Power Installation

Understanding the urgency, our team jumped into action. We quickly installed temporary power systems for all 20 businesses, ensuring they remained operational during the entire restoration process. To handle the complex power demands, we brought in 3-phase generators to support the temporary systems, maintaining stable, reliable electricity throughout the transition.

The Solution: New 2000V Switchgear Installation

While temporary power kept the businesses running, our electricians worked meticulously to remove and replace the damaged 2000V switchgear. This involved a full redesign and rebuild of the electrical infrastructure within the affected area of the strip mall. We upgraded all key components to ensure code compliance, improved safety, and future reliability.

Seamless Utility Coordination with SDG&E

Projects of this scale require more than just strong electrical work; they require seamless collaboration. We worked hand-in-hand with San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) to coordinate the installation and activation of new utility meters for each of the 20 businesses. This partnership ensured a smooth switchover from temporary to permanent power with minimal interruption.
